SWEETS AND SPICES EXHIBITION
JUN 01 – JUN 14, 2014, AVENUE AT ETIHAD TOWERS, ABU DHABI

This is a solo exhibition by Kateryna Kosyanenko which will also grant the wish of 11-year-old Afra Adnan Obaid Alshamsi.

Kateryna is a bright star on the Ukrainian art scene and the exhibition will showcase some of her works which have never been seen before. The exhibition’s special guest will be Afra, who aspires to become an artist. As part of Make A Wish Foundation’s granting of her wish, Afra and Kateryna Kosyanenko will spend four days painting and creating art together and Afra’s final work a will be showcased as part of the exhibition and will be auctioned, with the funds going towards the charity.

A sought-after painter in her country, Kateryna Kosyanenko has won artistic awards in Paris, Florence, Poland and Ukraine. Her oil paintings are breathtaking projections of unexpected, atmospheric visualizations, often borrowing from Ukrainian Baroque, Italian Renaissance and Fresco-style painting. With post modernist tendencies, her art is realised with realistic, traditional technique and executed with high level of skill. The paintings are a picturesque interpretation of the world, filled with spiritual harmony and visual beauty, often presented in optical blues and ultramarines, umber and sienna colors, reds and pinks.

Her paintings have been praised in Abu Dhabi and N2N Gallery, where she is represented as an in-house artist, having been favoured among Emirati and visiting art collectors alike.

The exhibition’s Grand Opening will be on the 1st of June at 7:30pm in Avenue at Etihad Towers.
